It's holiday party season! Last week I had the pleasure of DJing and hosting karaoke for one of my favorites wineries in Sonoma. The Scribe Winery was founded in 2007 on a pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley winemaking property. Owners Andrew & Adam Mariani live by the mantra that "a vineyard managed in harmony with the greater ecosystem results in more site-specific wines that represent a sense of time & place". I'm no sommelier, but sure!
I used to enjoy long afternoons sipping wine & eating fancy cheeses at Scribe at the invitation of my old Kansas Jayhawk musician homie Tanner Walle (now the songwriter behind Sonoma folk-rockers Little Worth). Tanner used to be a sommelier for Scribe and then he became the entrepreneur behind Valley Bar & Bottle and Valley Swim Club. VSC hosted our party & here are some pictures of their lovely rural Sonoma joint on Arnold Drive. VSC's crab roll & smashburger are smackalicious!
Scribe enlisted me to perform two hours of DJing & two hours of karaoke. I went for more of a vibes mix than a dancing mix since it was still daylight. I prepped by grabbing some of my favorite not-annoying holiday jams from the likes of Big Freedia & Disco 4 as well as original holiday edits from All Ears alumnus Maitre D & the Disco Pirates. Thanks to all the singers who dove right in and tore the roof off the place. We after-partied at Sonona staple El Verano Inn where the lady below presides over the piano. Thanks for a raging holiday party Scribe + Valley and hope to rock with ya'll next December!
